Philip Morris is the world's most successful tobacco brand, however, it is committed to change. As the 21st century progresses, different industries have reacted to governments’ concerns about people’s health and the planet. Philip Morris has responded to concerns about smoking by developing various smoke-free alternatives and promoting either stopping smoking or moving to a smoke-free product.
The UK government has set a target for the UK to go smoke-free by 2030, however, it is unclear how close the UK or individual areas are to meeting this target. To help raise awareness and provide clarity on the subject a website would display this information in a compelling way.
The website visualised current & projected smoking rates across the country via an interactive 3D map, showing when certain areas would ‘unsmoke’ and how close this was to the government’s target date. Users could explore the interactive map and timeline; by selecting a specific area a sharable card displayed the area’s smoke-free year and compared it with its neighboring areas.
