As part of the rebranding project for Italian fruit and veg supplier All’Ortolano a key aspect was adding a digital ordering platform. The site / cms needed to be flexible enough to allow for specific client needs while also being easy for them to use and maintain. Creatively, the online store needed to feel like a natural extension of the consumer site and new identity.
The site was built using the Shopify platform as the basis, providing the core functionality common to most online stores. The base site template was adapted to communicate one of the core brand principles of simplicity by using a clean and uncluttered style.
Alongside the standard e-commerce features, additional functionality was specific to the client’s needs were identified and added. These included: user pricing tiers, distance-based delivery price calculation, hidden pricing for non-users.
